Our Workshops
We run a range of workshops in response to what is requested by people living in Brighton and across the BN postcode area. Whatever the content, our workshops are always a stress-free, safe place to try out new things without any pressure to do anything you’re not comfortable with. Most importantly, they are a place to have a laugh, share your creativity, develop confidence and make friends with other people in Brighton.
If you’ve never done anything like this before. If you used to love acting but haven’t done it for years. If you’ve always wanted to act but didn’t know where to start. Then our workshops are for you. Try something new, come and join us!
Our weekly workshops are drop-in, so you can come to as many or as few as you like. Each 2-hour workshop will be a mixture of games, exercises, improvisation and script work.
Past open workshop series include Actor Training, Online Film Creation, Writing and Delivering monologues, Writing Workshops, Improvisation, Creating Characters, BPT Show development workshops, BPT Script development workshops.
If you attend 12 workshops in a calendar year, you will be invited to become a member of BPT. Read more about what it means to be a Member of BPT here.
Before you book
We prioritise people who have had the fewest opportunities to access arts and cultural activities. We are open to anyone with a BN postcode, who is over 18, and who doesn’t earn their living as a professional artist.
We charge for all activities on a Pay What You Decide basis.
We want to be inclusive and accessible to everyone. If you have any access needs we should be aware of so we can best support you to participate in our workshops, please do get in touch with us at least 24 hours beforehand. This is so we can adapt and tailor the workshop accordingly, so you get the best out of the experience.
Access
Thanks to the support of Brighton and Hove buses we are able to offer day saver bus tickets to those on low incomes wanting to attend our workshops.
If the cost of transport or childcare prevents you from attending, we can help. Please contact us in confidence to discuss your access needs.
