The Cast of Born and Bread

Name: Aabha
I was born in Banglore, Karnataka, India. I now live in Brighton. I work as a Project and Services Coordinator at DRI. In my spare time, I like to cook and swim. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was at school.

Name: Aditi
I was born in Pune, India. I now live in Kemptown, Brighton. I work as an NHS Mental Health Worker and a trainee Counsellor. In my spare time, I like to play the Surdo, a Brazilian bass drum with my band, the Carnival Collective. Before joining BPT I joined a sociodrama and psychodrama collective during lockdown. It was fascinating, cathartic and a lot of fun!

I was born in Barnet. I now live in Craven Vale, Brighton. I am retired, but I volunteer full-time with various groups. In my spare time, I like to stroll in our local wood, read, watch tv – and sleep! Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was at school, sixty-odd years ago!

I was born in London and grew up in Jamaica. I now live in Patcham in Brighton. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family and friends, read, travel, and enjoy a range of cultural activities. Before joining BPT my last theatre production was The Vagina Monologues, in 2004 at The Old Market in Brighton.

I was born in Basingstoke. I now live in Hove. I work as an NHS volunteer. In my spare time, I like to dance and sea swim. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was when I was a teenager!

I was born in Nottingham. Now I live in Hollingdean. I work in local radio and my hobbies include local history. The last time I did any theatre before BPT was 20 years ago when I did the same mime course as Kate Bush!

I was born in Hampshire. I now live in East Sussex. I work as a Community Artist. In my spare time, I like to read books, write poetry, compose music, play the guitar, play the piano, make art, and sing. Before joining BPT I had never done any theatre before.

I was born in Eritria. I now live in Brighton. I am a student. In my spare time, I like to meet up with friends. Before joining BPT I have never done any theatre before.

I was born in Reading. I now live in Portslade. I work as a Team Leader of a floating support service. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my friends and family, dance at festivals and make theatre with the lovely BPT crew. Before joining BPT I studied performing arts at University and was involved in running forum theatre workshops for a while.

I was born in Southwark, South London. I now live in Kemptown, Brighton. I work as a Volunteer for Oxfam and have been with them for nine years. In my spare time, I like to watch seventies movies, read medieval/Tudor history, go to concerts and support Arsenal. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was a short play on a movement, performed at the Brighton Unemployed Centre to an audience of twenty people.

I was born in Whitehawk, Brighton. I now live in Preston Park, Brighton. I work in recruitment at a social enterprise company. In my spare time, I like to swim, do Zumba, craft, read, go to the theatre, and spend time with family and friends. Before joining BPT I used to love doing drama at school and taught it when I was a teacher, but I can’t remember the last time I did any actual theatre.

I was born in Luton. I now live in Portslade. I work as a Linen Porter at Leonardo Hotel. In my spare time, I like to play video games and stream on Twitch. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was at uni where I did a musical theatre degree.

I was born in the New Forest. I now live in Brighton. I work as an Arts Psychotherapies lead in the NHS. In my spare time, I like to sea swim. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was ages ago!

I was born in Syria. I now live in Brighton. I work as a Beauty Therapist. In my spare time, I like to draw, read and sleep. Before joining BPT I studied acting in my country and worked in dubbing, theatre and cinema. I studied graphic design and worked on some drawing projects.

I was born in Iran. I now live in Hangleton, Hove. I work as a Ceramicist and run my pottery and ceramic studio. In my spare time, I like to dance, do storytelling and theatre. Before joining BPT I had never done any theatre. Working with BPT is my first experience so I am new to this field.

I was born in Colombia. I now live in Brighton. I am a student. In my spare time, I like to ride my bike and hang out with my friends. Before joining BPT I was in a pantomime last year, but I have done no theatre before that.

I was born in Croydon. I now live in Hove. I work as a charity worker in homelessness and housing. In my spare time, I like to cycle, hike, and play football. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was during my GCSEs.

I was born in Southend-on-Sea, in Essex. I now live in Lancing. In my spare time, I like to get messy making pottery and lino printing. I also enjoy watching films and creative writing. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was nearly 20 years ago!

I was born in London. I now live in Worthing. I work as a Bartender. In my spare time, I like to watch TV/films and play games. Before joining BPT I performed last year in a street theatre capacity at Leonardslee Gardens as Mr Tumnus.

In my spare time, I like to watch football and live entertainment, visit National Trust places and play at BPT. I also enjoy watching films and creative writing. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was performing in some skits when I was in the Army in my twenties.

I was born in India. I now live in Brighton. I am a pensioner. In my spare time, I like to go for walks and meet up with my friends, as well as singing. Before joining BPT I had never done any theatre; this is my first experience.

In my spare time, I like to dance, meet with friends, and new people, DIY and partying. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was when I was 19 and performed in Cavalcade at Sadlers Wells in London as an extra.

In my spare time, I like to swim, travel, go to gigs, do online content creation, craft, and be in nature. Before joining BPT the last time I did any theatre was when I was a member of the Universalis Theatrical Society when I studied abroad for a year at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands.
