About Theatre Club

Our online theatre club is a bit like a book club – we watch a piece of theatre online in our own time, then come together on Zoom to discuss it.

When you book your place we will send you a reminder of the link to where you can watch the play beforehand, along with the Zoom meeting details for the group discussion.

This month we’ll be exploring ‘Stories To Get Us Through’ by Public Acts Doncaster. You can listen to all five podcasts or choose which one or two you’d like to watch. The podcasts are available to listen to on the Public Arts Doncaster website and you can listen to them at any time before our Zoom session.

About the plays

“An extraordinary act of theatre and community”

A storytelling podcast written and performed by the people of Doncaster, inspired by real-life events and created during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The featured stories have been created by people of various ages, genders, nationalities, and cultural backgrounds. You’ll hear personal stories of courage and resilience, of friendship, and of hope. We hope you find something in our stories to get you through this time.

”When I was asked if I wanted to include something for the Stories To Get Us Through collective I was skeptic, for I didn’t have a single story in mind that would instill inspiration or start a conversation. Motivation is not a great strength of mine. But then it occurred to me there is something I could say. I could open my mouth and talk proud pushing the negative voices down. I could say that it’s people who get us through. People with their hearts and dreams. People with their stories. Stories which get us through.” -Sam
