Artist Swap Shop (for professionals only)

Founders Room, Brighton Dome, Church Street, Brighton, BN1 1UE

Are you a theatre-maker, workshop facilitator, or professional performance artist with a BN postcode? Are you looking for a place to share practice with other artists in a low-stakes supportive space?

Brighton People’s Theatre is creating a regular space to meet, connect, and play with other artists in the Founders Room at Brighton Dome.

For each session, we’ll ask everyone to bring one or two games, exercises, or activities that you are happy to share with the group. They could be tried and tested activities i.e. things you do all the time. Or there might be something new that you want to try out. They might be related to a specific project you are working on or a bit of research you are doing.

At the beginning of the workshop, we will co-design the session with everyone who has arrived and then have a morning of play and practice curated and delivered by the people in the room.

We hope that over the morning you’ll get to connect with other local makers and facilitators; to share and refresh your practice with peers, collaborators & friends; and put a few more games and exercises in your creative tool box.

Come and play, come and share at the Brighton People’s Theatre Artist Swap Shop.

Who is it for

Our Artist Swap Shop is for professional artists who earn some or all of their living through their art. We feel there are not enough opportunities for professional artists to access affordable professional development or to network with each other. We hope these sessions will be both useful and enjoyable. We are looking forward to meeting you.

How much

Full Price: £10

Low-Income/Concessionary rate: If you are a professional artist but the cost is a barrier you can Pay What You Decide.
