Playwriting Workshop

Ansvar Community Hub, Circus Street, Brighton, BN2 9AS

Starting in November 2024, we’ll be holding a weekly Playwriting Workshop in central Brighton. These workshops are for non-professional writers and non-professional actors, so if you’ve never done anything like it before but want to give it a try, come along!

These workshops will be an incredible place to hone your craft, connect with other writers, develop some new bits of writing, and share your work in a low-stakes setting with a supportive peer group.

Over the six weeks we will throw ourselves into some creative writing  exercises and use these exercises as a springboard to discuss playwriting essentials.  Flexing our creative muscles deepening our writing practice. There will also be the opportunity to connect with actors from the Brighton People’s Theatre community, and a chance to share your work on the stage at one of Get-Togethers which happen 3 times a year.

Each workshop has been designed to fit into a lunch break and hopefully give you the chance to have a creative adventure into whatever you are currently working on in the middle of the day.

When: Tuesday lunchtime. (It is possible to drop into these sessions as each one will be standalone, or you can book all six.)

  • Tuesday 22 April, 12 – 1 pm
