Are you a Producer of co-created theatre? Are you an emerging artist who self-produces co-created theatre? Or are you an established theatre maker looking to broaden your practice? If so, come and learn some tricks of the trade from Brighton People’s Theatre about the how, why, when and who of all things Producing.
Our ‘Producing Co-Created Theatre’ two-day training will run on 9 and 10 June 2025 at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts. Interested? Read more and apply below.
Our 2-day course will cover:

- Power dynamics in co-creating original theatre: exploring our model for shifting power dynamics
- Responsibilities that producers have to hold to lead co-creative practice effectively
- Casting, rehearsal scheduling and supporting non-professional artists
Our approach to training is highly collaborative and participatory. While BPT will be sharing our practice and case studies for attendees to explore, we will also be facilitating the sharing of experiences and approaches between attendees.
The training is suitable for:
- Experienced artists looking to develop their practice in co-creation
- Emerging artists who want to focus their practice in co-created work
- Recent graduates wanting practical tools to make co-created work
What past participants have said
“Open, transparent, currently relevant and delivered in a very friendly and professional manner. BPT are deadly serious about what they do and want to achieve, but can laugh at themselves and with others.”
“Very thought through and considered. It’s very inclusive and accessible while also prioritising high quality artistic outcomes (which is not easy!)”
“Plenty of cross referencing, research documentation and the experiences of the group all make for a meaningful and learned experience.”
